About Me

My name is Henk Groen, born on a crisp winter morning in 1956. Legend has it that the flowers on the table inside froze solid, and my father braved the icy streets by bicycle to register my birth at the town hall.
From an early age, I looked at the world with curious eyes. When I first held a camera — the legendary Box — a whole new world opened up to me. Every click felt like a discovery.
What began as playful curiosity grew into a lifelong passion for photography and film.
Now, after all these years, I’m still on the road — still amazed by the adventure of capturing special moments and the stories that deserve to be told.

After a wonderful time as co-director of a software company, I chose to fully pursue my creative dreams. Photography and video have always been my passion, and from that moment on, they had all the space they needed.
I’ve since specialized in capturing cities, landscapes, and theater productions in striking high resolution. Every photo on this site had to be significantly downsized.
To me, each image tells its own story. I always aim to capture the atmosphere, emotion, and soul of the moment—whether it’s the rhythm of a vibrant city or stage performance, or the stillness of an abandoned landscape.

My journey as a photographer has no final destination — it’s constantly evolving. I’m always discovering new techniques, like panoramic photography and integrating artificial intelligence into my creative process.
But my passion doesn’t stop behind the camera. I love sharing my knowledge and experiences. What I enjoy most is encouraging others and supporting them with technical know-how, helping them walk their own artistic path.
Too often, the technical side gets in the way of the joy of creating — and I believe it shouldn’t.

When I’m not holding a camera, I enjoy spending my time on a healthy lifestyle, sharing good moments with family and friends, and—of course—exploring the latest tech gadgets. What can I say? Old habits die hard…
My enthusiasm for the unknown and my curiosity for new knowledge keep me growing—both professionally and personally. Sitting still doesn’t quite suit me (though, truth be told, I’m actually quite good at it); I’m always ready for the next adventure.

My goal is not just to create images, but to evoke and share a sense of wonder and inspiration through my work — whether it’s a captivating video or a striking photograph or talking about it.
